The Accounting Co-op will be a contributor to the financial close process and financial reporting for TBS, which in a partner in delivering financial reporting within the US, EUCAN (Europe & Canada) and Growth & Emerging Markets.

They will partner on the production of accurate and timely reporting for certain aspects of financial accounting results through reconciliations, analysis and monthly general entries, including working with colleagues in other TBS teams and countries.

They will have opportunities to collaborate with various functions within TBS on ongoing projects and initiatives.


_ ACCOUNTABILITIES _

  • Participate in the monthly, quarterly and yearend close finance/accounting close, including preparation of journal entries for review.
  • Perform and document balance sheet account reconciliations and financial statement analysis, including adhoc reporting and analysis.
  • Participate in all aspects of internal and external financial and operational audits.
  • Support insideout thinking to bring new ways of working and innovation to enable business solutions for Takeda.
  • Partner with other functions across TBS to drive digital and automation initiatives.
  • Focus on the accurate recording, reconciliation and analysis of various balance sheet and P&L accounts.
  • Perform other duties within evolution of role and work as appropriate.
  • Build individual capability through working with global experts within Finance and Accounting.

BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting in process
  • Understanding of controls and SOX compliance
  • Strong IT skills, particularly MS Excel
  • Proficiency in English language, verbal and written

Preferred:

  • Prior coop in Finance or Accounting, ideally in large, matrixed organization
  • Interest in longterm career within the Pharmaceutical industry


This role is in partnership with Drexel University and will have a co-op cycle of September 2024 through March 2025, with exact dates TBD.
