- Clarifying physician orders, verifying insurance, obtaining pre-authorizations, and certifications, and addressing scheduling inquiries via telephone.
- Coordinating patient appointments using computerized scheduling systems, resolving conflicts, documenting rescheduling information, and maintaining accurate records.
- Inputting patient data into the scheduling system, updating records, preparing charts, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Compiling and reporting statistical data if required by the department.
- Providing educational materials to patients and families as needed, responding to queries, and directing inquiries to appropriate clinical personnel.
- Offering administrative assistance to the unit when necessary.

Description
This position is in charge of organizing patient treatments or diagnostic procedures for the assigned area. Tasks include pre-registration, receiving physician orders, verifying insurance, obtaining preauthorizations and pre-certifications, maintaining records, and generating statistical reports as needed. Additionally, distributing educational materials to patients and families may be required in the designated department.

Requirements include a high school diploma/GED or equivalent knowledge and a minimum of 2 years of experience in medical clerical roles, preferably in hospital central scheduling or physician office scheduling. Competency with office software and computer systems, as well as the capacity to manage data accurately, produce reports, and maintain statistical records, are also necessary.
