Position Summary:
Safely maintains equipment for all production processes performed at Fox River Valley Ethanol, learns, understands and complies with plant safety and production rules and regulations.
12 hours on a 2/2/3 schedule
- Training will be 13 months on Days
Specific Job Duties:
- Maintaining plant equipment:
- Follow written procedures (SOPs) and manufacturer recommendations
- Use hand and power tools to maintain, repair, and install equipment
- Monitor pumps, fans, conveyors, motors, etc. for signs of problems (make routine rounds)
- Troubleshoot equipment
- Keep logs of activities
- Operate forklifts to move equipment
- Operate manlift's to access equipment
- Operate skid steer
- Housekeeping
- Sweep floors
- Shovel spills (corn, flour, DDGS)
- Wash down floors with a hose or pressure washer
- Push liquids with a squeegee
- Empty trash bins into dumpsters
- Non-Routine
- Assist with product loading/unloading
- Operate front end loader
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Work performed is expected to meet or exceed guidelines for safety, quality, accuracy, timeliness and thoroughness.
- Due to 24/7/365 operations and number of operators on each shift, must be reliable and timely in reporting to work.
- Accurately troubleshoot and resolve technical problems
- Communicate effectively and develop good working relationships with others
- Conduct self with honesty and integrity
- Take initiative to notice what needs to be done and the good judgment to act appropriately.
- Must be able to work both independently and as a team member, and multitask effectively.
Education & Experience:
- Requires at least a high school education or equivalent
Physical Requirements:
- Walking/standing on flat surfaces
- Climbing stairs and ladders
- Working from elevated platforms and lifts
- Lifting parts/tools/equipment (up to 50 pounds or a twoman lift)
- Crouching, bending, twisting, reaching overhead
