Robert Half is partnering with a well-established global company in Torrance seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Buyer/Planner to join their team. This organization is known for its operational stability, strong supplier network, and consistent market presence.

Responsibilities
- Manage established supplier relationships to ensure consistent, on-time delivery and adherence to quality standards
- Issue RFQs, evaluate quotes, negotiate pricing, and place purchase orders in alignment with company policies
- Monitor inventory levels and perform analysis to maintain appropriate stock levels and avoid disruptions
- Coordinate daily procurement of materials and components to support steady production schedules
- Track overdue purchase orders and communicate with suppliers to maintain delivery commitments
- Analyze purchasing data to maintain cost control and operational efficiency
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and internal departments to ensure smooth workflow
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and ensure compliance with internal controls
- Support product updates and ongoing operational needs by securing required materials
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
- 3+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Proficiency in Excel and ERP/MRP systems
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a structured environment
- Clear and professional communication skills

• Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in supply chain planning within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a solid understanding of material planning.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with intermediate Excel skills.
• Familiarity with interpreting mechanical drawings is advantageous.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
• Experience with M3 system is a significant plus but not mandatory.
• Ability to effectively manage supplier relationships and negotiate favorable terms.
• Proven track record of improving processes and achieving cost reductions.
