Description
Role Overview:
Under the general direction, assess and diagnose patients' nursing problems; guide appropriate patient care treatment, counseling, and education of patients and their families; support nursing staff in patient evaluation and care provision; provide interprofessional consultation; and perform related tasks.
Essential Job Functions:
Minimum Qualifications:
Preferred Education: Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
Minimum Experience: Demonstrated clinical competence and in-depth knowledge in a specialty area with a minimum of two years of clinical experience in the specialization area and a Master's degree in Nursing from a recognized clinical specialization program; OR four years of clinical experience in the specialization area and possession of an American Nurses' Association Specialty Certification; OR two years of clinical experience in the specialization area and possession of an American Nurses' Association Clinical Specialist Certification.
Required Licenses/Certifications: APS Perinatal Safety Modules must be completed within 3 months of hire for positions in Labor and Delivery/Maternal Child Health.
Required Licenses/Certifications: BLS - Basic Life Support Certification issued by the American Heart Association. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
Required Licenses/Certifications: Valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
