Description

OVERVIEW
We're looking for an editor to lead a team of reporters and steer coverage.

This is both a strategic and hands-on role that will allow you to shape the future of this exciting publication.

Healthcare Brew, part of Morning Brew's professional editorial strategy, tells the story of how a vital industry (a multi-trillion-dollar one, to boot) navigates technological, political, societal, and economic change—and how to help professionals in the healthcare space make better decisions that, ultimately, affect us all.

Healthcare Brew covers pharmaceutical developments, health startups, the latest tech, and how it impacts hospitals and providers to keep administrators and providers informed.

The publication's audience of 110,000 healthcare professionals covers and creates news about how the healthcare industry is adapting to new pressures: from an aging population, from new policies and new technologies, from a society trying to figure out if healthcare is a right or a privilege.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE WORKING ON

  • Manage daytoday operations of the Healthcare Brew newsletter production process, including assigning/approving stories, editing pieces, and writing headlines.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of three reporters.
  • Generate, develop, and execute ideas for nonnewsletter products and other special editorial projects—like events or research.
  • Participate in Healthcare Brew events, both IRL and virtual.
  • Write stories if and as needed.
  • Enforce Morning Brew editorial guidelines, editing stories for highlevel substance, Brew tone and voice, and standard copy.
  • Support optimization of existing publication processes and establish new ones where needed.
  • Support analysis of audience trends.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 8 years of professional editorial experience
  • At least 5 years experience managing a team of writers
  • Ability to write in the Morning Brew style (engaging, informative, clever)
  • Flexible worker who is equally motivated by strategic, longterm thinking and handson execution.
  • Ability to intentionally experiment with, iterate on, and make hard decisions about new product offerings.
  • Excellent communication skills with a mindset for collaboration.
  • Ability to operate in a highpressure environment with tight deadlines.

COMPENSATION $110,000 _*Final offers for this job will be made within the parameters of the salary range provided, commensurate with experience. Total offer package to include benefits highlighted under our perks section below._
