Job Summary:

To efficiently and safely receive raw materials and ship products to meet established delivery times. To process and put away all production finished goods.


Responsibilities:


  • Appropriately document knowledge of and/or participation in all systems, procedures, projects, investigations, rules of thumb, preventive and safety measures
  • Practice continuous improvement strategies while continually monitoring shipping activities to maintain on time delivery.
  • Perform cycle count of finished goods.
  • Pick orders from the night before and perform put away in mezzanine.
  • Perform pick up of finished goods from all departments and also put away process of production finished goods from the night before.
  • Load and unload containers, truckload and LTL shipments, large cartons, container shipments. Place unloaded material into their proper receiving staging area.
  • Perform PO Receipts.
  • Material handling includes the unloading and loading of stock, raw material and scrap.
  • Communicate with Management and coworkers regarding job requirements and procedures.
  • Utilize the computer for information gathering, label making and data collection.
  • Monitor equipment for unsafe conditions and notify Management of any problems.
  • Ensure palletized materials are stacked safely.
  • Keep the department clean with aisles open and fire extinguishers accessible.
  • Daily: Maintain a neat and orderly workstation.
  • Daily: Perform end of shift/job cleanup of workstation. (5 minutes allotted to perform cleanup)
  • Place all trash in proper collection bins.
  • Place all recycling in proper collection bins.
  • Provide ideas for the elimination of waste, recycling opportunities, continuous improvement and defect prevention.
  • Ensure Trailer Restraints/Wheel Chocks/Trailer Jacks are used when loading and unloading.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Requirements:


  • High school diploma, General Education Degree (G.E.D.) or equivalent experience
  • Understand thoroughly the materials, their characteristics and how they are used in the process.
  • Be physically capable of handling materials weighing up to 150 lbs. with the proper lifting devices.
  • While working, to be able to stand, walk, lift, carry, push, pull, stoop, crouch, reach, handle, finger, feel, talk and hear. In addition, visual clarity near, far, peripherally and identifying color are necessary.
  • Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) along with the use of a calculator.
  • Fast paced environment, closely interacting with teammates
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
