- Articulate a vision for safety excellence, setting strategic goals to meet company expectations of safety excellence.
- Cultivate a culture of safety excellence by engaging and empowering employees at all levels to take ownership of safety practices.
- Partner with executives, leaders, technicians to drive change for both fleet safety and occupational safety.
- Use statistics and data to apply a risk-management approach to focus the safety team to drive change through leading indicators.
- Design workflows that will generate the data needed to inform best practices, results.
- Produce policies, programs and initiatives to promote the safety program, improve the company's safety record, safety culture in the field and correct identified deficiencies.
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all health, safety, and environmental programs are designed to be compliant with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
- Conduct periodic safety audits/inspections at jobsites to ensure compliance and support.
- Manage company onboarding process with regards to safety and environmental reporting.
- Drive consistency and standardization of safety programs.
- Work with Learning and Development to ensure all current federal, state, OSHA and other regulations are up to date and training material meets the standards.
- Prepare and present to the senior leadership team on health and safety initiatives and performance metrics.
- Respond immediately to take control of major incidents on job sites. Lead the investigation with the safety committee for all major incidents.
- Perform investigations, including root cause analysis, and prepare detailed records of incidents.
- Case management with each incident to ensure the company is reporting properly to OSHA or other required state or federal agencies. Ensure each case is properly managed.
- Lead injury management eHorts to ensure injured employees receive the appropriate medical treatment.
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering or a related field.
- Advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.
- Capable of travel up to 25%
