Under direction of the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Clerk handles all payroll related functions of a company or organization.

This includes processing payroll, taxation forms and benefits, as well as maintaining employee data, handling payroll questions, and completing any other tasks necessary for monitoring and overseeing a company's payroll process.

This position requires an extremely detail orientated person with significant knowledge of payroll administration, including state and federal regulations.


Responsibilities:

- _Processing new hires into ADP WFN payroll system._
- _ Processing updates to existing employees in the ADP WFN payroll system._
- _ Processing payroll entries received from employees and divisions into ADP WFN._
- _ Reviewing payroll reports in order to ensure accurate payroll processing and reporting of information._
- _ Printing and sorting completed payroll reports._
- _ Redacting member physician information on completed payroll reports._
- _ Creating ad-hoc reports requested by various parties within CWC._
- _ Reviewing federal, state withholding and unemployment tax information for each entity._
- _ Reviewing and reconciling federal, state withholding and unemployment tax disbursements made by ADP._
- _ Advising of corrections to federal, state withholding and state unemployment taxes._
- _ Coordinating tax updates, including amendments with ADP, attorneys and states._
- _ Researching questions/concerns with various taxing authorities._
- _ Creating new tax withholding and/or sui account numbers._
- _ Completing quarterly BLS reports with employee counts by division and total dollars by division._
- _ Reviewing and reconciling ADP quarterly tax reports including, but not limited to: Statement of Deposits and Filings, Quarterly Tax Verification Letters and Quarterly Wage and Tax Reports._
- _ Reviewing and reconciling ADP annual tax reports including, but not limited to: Statement of Deposits and Filings, Quarterly Tax Verification Letters, Quarterly Wage and Tax Reports and W2's._
- _ Creating and modifying payroll processing instructions._
- _ Reviewing company setup structure in ADP to determine possible areas of consolidation/modification._
- _ Coordinating consolidation/modification of company setup with ADP._
- _ Completing and returning to requestor Verification of Employment documentation._
- _ Updates payroll records by entering, reviewing and approving changes as appropriate._
- _ Processes and Pays employees by directing the production and issuance of paychecks or electronic transfers to bank accounts on a bi weekly schedule._
- _ Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages._
- _ Prepares weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.) for management._
- _ Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions._
- _ Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential._
- _ Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies._
- _ Oversee internal payroll and accounting audits on a semi-annual basis._


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in human resource management or related field or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Three to five years of HR experience in payroll.
  • Excellent mathematics and communication skills
  • Experience with ADP
  • Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality
  • Efficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Efficiency with ADP and Salesforce
