POSITION TITLE:
_ESTIMATOR_**
REPORTS TO:
Production Prep/Estimating Supervisor
SUMMARY:
Responsible for estimating cost and specification building for projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for computing cost estimates for materials, purchased equipment, labor and other related activities to assist Pricing Analyst and/or Sales Manager and in bidding on or determining price of project.
Selects and prices proper equipment per the plans and specifications.
Generate tooling quotes.
Responsible for the pricing to ensure accuracy of quantity, proper size, configuration, options, etc.
Documents work by maintaining files for each job.
Coordinates with various departments (i.e., design, production, fulfillment) to collect applicable information for building specification.
Obtains and validates vendor quotes.
Additional duties as assigned by management.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED
Previous experience in cost estimating role and/or experience working in the corrugated box industry
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to effectively communicate with individuals internal and external to the estimating department. Ability to read and interpret documents such as sales reports, operating instructions, and training and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, costs, proportions, and volumes.
REASONING ABILITY
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Application computer systems knowledge
Application knowledge of products and production processes
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Employee is regularly required to hear and sit
Vision requirements include:
close vision and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work inside a climate controlled office environment. Employee will be required to work overtime, typically 45-50 hours per week, during peak weeks of the season.
