OVERVIEW


The Director of Human Resources is responsible for all aspects of the OIC of America's (OICA) human resources functions, including recruiting and retention; organizational development; employee training and development; employee relations and communications; performance management; salary benchmarking; benefits management and administration; and compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.


This position helps ensure that the employees of OIC of America have the knowledge, resources, and support needed to achieve the organization's mission.


In addition, the director will play a critical leadership role in helping revitalize the culture, focus, and performance of the OICA national office.

This may include assisting current staff with assuming new responsibilities, helping design and implement an efficient operating structure, and creating the personnel policies required to support the rapid growth of OICA.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee a process for recruiting, interviewing, and selecting qualified employees to fill vacant positions in a timely manner.
  • Plans and conducts new employee orientation programs to instill the OICA culture and ensure familiarity with OICA's purpose, mission, and goals.
  • Designs and manages a quality system and annual process for evaluating the performance of all staff.
  • Provides leadership with effective internal communication of goals, results, challenges, and recognition of staff.
  • Ensures the creation of annual professional development plans for all OICA staff; Coordinates, develops, and leads or identifies internal/external resources for staff training.
  • Establish and maintain a secure recordkeeping system for all personnel transactions such as hires, annual performance evaluations, promotions, and terminations.
  • Manages the drafting of all personnel policies and procedures; ensures compliance with these policies and procedures.
  • Investigates workplace accidents and prepares reports for insurance carriers.
  • Conducts wage surveys within relevant labor markets to determine competitive wage rates for all staff positions.
  • Prepares the budget for personnel operation.
  • Continuously improve the programs, policies, practices, and processes associated with all areas of responsibility.
  • Directs and advises senior leadership, the Board's Human Resources Committee, and Board of Directors on personnel policy and human resources issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree required and master's degree preferred; SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of direct experience in managing and leading human resource activities

WORKING CONDITIONS
This role operates in a professional environment on a hybrid schedule.

The expected hours of the position are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5 p.m.
