Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. In this vital role, you will assist in preparing ingredients, assembling dishes, and ensuring that all food items meet our high standards for quality and safety. Your enthusiasm for food preparation and kitchen operations will contribute to delivering an exceptional dining experience for our guests. Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients according to established recipes and standards
- Support the kitchen team in meal assembly, ensuring timely and accurate presentation of dishes
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times
- Handle food items safely during storage, handling, and preparation processes to prevent contamination
- Assist with menu planning by preparing ingredients for upcoming service periods
- Support catering and special event food preparations as needed
- Follow all kitchen safety procedures, including proper knife skills and equipment handling
- Lifting, carrying, moving up to 50lbs
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
- Experience working in food service, restaurant, or culinary environments is preferred
- Knowledge of food handling, safety protocols, and sanitation standards is essential
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in basic food preparation techniques are required
- Familiarity with menu planning, meal preparation, and food industry practices is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards serving others
