Duties:


  • Assists in the direction, coordination, review and evaluation of law enforcementrelated activities within AFOSI and coordinates those activities with DoD and nationallevel agencies.
  • Establishes and maintains a current series of liaison contacts with DoD, AFOSI and regional agencies related to law enforcement issues.

  • All new DCIPS employees are required to complete a twoyear DCIPS trial period.
  • Must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal and Regulatory Guide
  • Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends and/or holidays
  • Shift work and emergency overtime may be required
  • Employee must maintain current certifications
  • Disclosure of Political Appointments
  • Direct Deposit: All federal employees are required to have direct deposit
  • Advance in hire may be authorized if there is demonstrable proof provided on your resume
  • Leave accrual may be authorized upon request
  • Overtime may be required as workload demands and in some cases with nonotice due to urgency of time sensitive matters. Periodic shift work may be required if assigned as a watchstanding analyst.
  • Mobility is a condition of employment. The employee must sign an Air Forcewide mobility agreement.
  • The work requires the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license is required.
  • The incumbent must undergo an internal background investigation by AFOSI and must be approved for duty by the Commander of AFOSI or the Commander's designated representative(s).

Qualifications:


  • This is a GG12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG12 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS12 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
  • In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Position.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position.


Examples of creditable experience include:
knowledge of basic principles and practices of criminal investigations, field operations, crime prevention, and intelligence data gathering used in a law enforcement agency; knowledge of the principles, concepts, and methodologies of intelligence analysis and research to include statistical methods; link, pattern, and timeline analysis; HUMINT profiling/targeting; and database manipulation; and knowledge of national and state criminal intelligence community structure and responsibilities


Note:

Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

  • 1. Knowledge of basic principles and practices of criminal investigations, field operations, crime prevention, and intelligence data gathering used in a law enforcement agency.
  • 2. Knowledge of the principles, concepts, and methodologies of intelligence analysis and research to include statistical methods; link, pattern, and timeline analysis; HUMINT profiling/targeting; and database manipulation.
  • 3. Knowledge of national and state criminal intelligence community structure and responsibilities.
  • 4.
Skill in producing finished intelligence reports and other products that are responsive to the specific needs of customers, to include:
formulating and conducting original research; collating, organizing, and analyzing information; resolving conflicts; and presenting clear and concise findings.

  • 5. Skill in using excellent verbal and written communications skills to include prepare and present statements to high level audiences, expressing thoughts clearly, concisely and logically. Skill in maintaining liaison and coordination with counterpart professionals to ensure requirements are met.
  • 6. Ability to perform extensive research to interpret intelligence data and present the results in customer usable form; and to analyze data and disseminate finished intelligence.
