Description
Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare providers with patient care and treatment in a backoffice setting.
- Organize and schedule appointments
- Update and file medical records and insurance reports
- Arrange hospital admissions and laboratory services
- Check with patients and type up patients charts
- Assist during medical examinations
- Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
- Handle receivable and payable accounts and keep financial records
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
- Answer high volume amount of phone calls
- Send out referrals and documents that the provider has ordered and complete in a timely manner.
- Send out authorizations for referrals/ and other items as needed.
- Order and process in a timely manner all DME/ EDD and Lab work that has been ordered daily.
Qualifications:
- Proven working experience as a medical assistant or medical secretary
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work
- Social perceptiveness and service oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software
- Degree in medical assistance
- Knowledge of EPIC
Pay:
$ $20.00 per hour
Expected hours:
No more than 40 per week
