847- FLSA Status: Non Exempt- Pay Range: $ Defense contractor involved with product development and manufacturing of various systems for military aerospace and vehicles in the Los Angeles International Airport area.

Purpose:


The Building Maintenance Technician I position, under limited supervision, performs work of routine difficulty maintenance and related work as assigned.


Job Duties:

  • Performs routine maintenance on building interior and exterior.
  • Routine maintenance tasks could include: assembly, furniture/equipment/material moves, minor electrical, minor plumbing and general labor.
  • Must possess the ability to safely use hand and power tools.
  • Interacts and may require contacting vendors and contractors for necessary building repairs and emergencies that are outside the scope of routine maintenance.
  • Maintains a schedule of when maintenance has been performed and when next service is due.
  • Works in an organized and safe manner and recognizes unsafe situations. Takes appropriate action to ensure safety of themselves and others in building.
  • Responsible for the completion and accuracy of documentation related to assigned tasks.
  • May be assigned tasks outside the scope of this job description.

Job Requirements:

  • Maintain awareness and understanding of documents published in the BMS Library, with specific
competency of general as well as related field documents.

  • Required skills in decision making, time management, customer/client focus and attention to detail.
  • Regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb all day.
  • Frequently lifts and/or move items over 35 pounds.
  • Self starter with the ability to work unsupervised.
  • Reading, writing and general math skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a group (Team) environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, must be able to speak/read/write English.
  • Must be willing to have flexible work hours.
