Responsibilities:


Description of Position:

The Health Care Specialist will provide clinical input to all support team members on medical issues around individuals served by the Developmental Disabilities Program and facilitate informed decision making regarding major issues faced by the team and the individuals being served.

He/she will assist with the organization and management of medical/health care information and conduct quality assurance reviews of medical information databases.

The Health Care Specialist will identify health promotion strategies that will help each person achieve their optimal health. This position will be a resource for all programs within DDP in Philadelphia, Bucks and Montgomery counties.


Qualifications:

Requirements:

Current professional licensure, RN or LPN, and a minimum of 3 years in administrative and clinical positions working with people with developmental disabilities.

Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people of diverse backgrounds and educational levels. Ability to lead and guide teams through effective decision making in health care and ethical issues. Some travel in the tri-county area is required. It is essential to support The Salvation Army by having an appreciation and understanding of The Salvation Army mission.
