    Benjamin Franklin Cummings Institute of Technology (Franklin Cummings Tech) is a private, non-profit, two-year technical college located in Boston.

    Founded in 1908, the college proudly continues a long tradition of educating students for high-demand technical careers in a variety of industries, including automotive, advanced manufacturing, computer technology, engineering, and construction management.

    With a mission to deliver transformative technical and trade education that leads to economic advancement, our unique mixture of 1, 2, and 4-year programs are delivered both in-person and on-line to appeal to student's demand for flexible program delivery.

    Requirements


    Key Responsibilities:

    The external and internal appearance of the building reflects on the occupants. It is important for a custodian to be careful and thorough in working, cleaning, and tidying the premises.

    The ideal candidate will be experienced in a custodian role focused on building upkeep with a keen eye for detail and diligence are imperative.


    • Clean the interior of the buildings including floors, carpet, rugs, windows and walls
    • Disinfect commonly used items such as desks, door handles, office tools and phones
    • Maintain cleaning inventory, placing orders for new products when needed
    • Maintain outdoor grounds, cut grass and trim bushes
    • Remove debris and snow from sidewalks
    • Empty trash and recycling bins daily
    • Stock and maintain supply rooms
    • Perform minor repairs around the college such as replace light bulbs, etc.
    • Utilize insecticides to prevent infestation by dangerous pests
    • Vacuum, sweep and mop floors
    • Clean and maintain restrooms
    • Wash and clean windows and mirrors
    • Notify the Director of Facilities and Campus Safety of unsafe conditions
    • Dust furniture and fixtures
    • Setup and cleanup for events and activities. Review schedule and be aware of when events are happening.
    • Secure facilities after operating hours by locking doors, closing windows and setting up the alarm

    Requirements and skills:


    • Proven experience as custodian, janitor or in a similar role
    • Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances
    • Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components
    • Familiarity with basic landscaping and handyman practices
    • Attention to detail and conscientiousness
    • Ability to left 25 pounds to chest height
    • High school diploma
