    Description

    An Insurance carrier we're partnered with is looking for an AVP of Underwriting to lead their Atlanta Office. They are consistently recognized as a great best place to work as they prioritize work-life balance and great compensation & benefits.

    Qualifications:

    • Experience Matters: Youll need a minimum 10 years of underwriting experience. Your expertise will be crucial in assessing risks and making informed decisions.
    • Prior management experience is required as you will have several Underwriting Managers reporting to you
    • Educational Background: A BA or BS degree, ideally in Economics, Business, Finance, or Accounting, will set you up for success in this role.

    Responsibilities: Youll play a pivotal role in shaping our risk portfolio. Heres what youll be doing:

    • Oversees the implementation of underwriting practices within a designated area, directing efforts to achieve underwriting objectives in specified business programs.
    • Develops and executes sales budgets and targets for the region, including attainment of premium and loss ratio objectives, engagement in agency activities, and forecasting business growth.
    • Assesses and guides the underwriting of complex or sizable risks requiring advanced technical expertise in product and industry knowledge.
    • Supports the cultivation of productive agency relationships, which may involve identifying new agencies, managing appointments, fostering growth, optimizing profit sharing, and assessing agency performance.
