Description
At the Direction of the Housekeeping Supervisor, the Housekeeper performs all of the daily tasks required for a Housekeeping Employee (e.g. washing and disinfecting all restrooms; dusting furniture, fixtures, etc.), as well as, a variety of seasonal and specific housekeeping tasks and responsibilities in alignment with the _Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart Education_.


Position Responsibilities:


  • Wash and disinfect all restrooms floor, walls, toilets, toilets seat, mirrors, sinks, urinals, and fixtures
  • Dust furniture, fixtures, etc.
  • Use of a variety of power cleaning equipment including, floor machines, walk behind and backpack vacuums, wetvacuums, stripping and buffing machines, carpet shampoo and extraction machines
  • Use of a variety of lightduty custodial equipment, including, but not limited to mops, brooms, dusters, etc.
  • Use of a variety of chemical cleaners including but not limited to: floor stripper, floor finish, toilet bowl and bathroom cleaners, general disinfectants, all purpose cleaners, etc.
  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all jobs or tasks requiring PPE equipment
  • Knowledge of the proper use of spill control materials to use in cleaning up a small chemical spill
  • May require coordinating job assignments of some Housekeeping Staff in designated areas
  • The position requires prolonged standing, walking, bending and stooping, lifting and carrying equipment and objects on level surfaces, ladders and/or stairways
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Essential skills and experience:


  • Minimum of 3 years cleaning experience in a commercial or residential setting preferred.
  • A positive attitude
  • Ability to perform duties independently, with minimum supervision
  • Ability to take direction and followthrough to completion of task
  • Comfort working in a team environment
  • Ability to work well with supervisor, coworkers, and staff from other departments
  • Ability to communicate with the Facilities Manager, Director of Facilities and faculty and staff concerning requests, needs, etc.
  • Commitment to communicating clearly and regularly with others
  • Detailoriented
  • Ability to exercise good judgement
  • Flexibility with work schedule to allow for shift demands can change through the year
  • Demonstration of punctuality, reliability, and professionalism

Valued but not required skills and experience:

  • Ability to communicate fluently in English and Spanish
  • Ability to supervise and instruct employees

Reporting to this position:


  • This position has no direct reports


The employee is expected to adhere to all school policies, to adhere to the Goals and Criteria set forth by the Network of Sacred Heart Schools, and to act as a role model in adherence to the policies and the Goals and Criteria.


Pay:
$ $22.69 per hour
