Angel Wheels Transportation provides wheelchair accessible non-emergency transportation to medical appointments. Located in Schaumburg Illinois and operating since 2009, we serve communities in northwestern Cook and northern DuPage counties.

Position Overview:
As a Medical Transport Driver, you will take clients from various locations such as personal residences, rehabilitation centers and healthcare facilities to their medical appointments using a wheelchair lift equipped commercial service vehicle.
This position involves a significant amount of interpersonal contact with clients, family members, facility staff and medical professionals.The work is very hands-on and requires pushing and maneuvering clients in wheelchairs both in and out of the vehicle as well as securing them for safe transport.
Responsibilities:
Drive and operate a wheelchair accessible commercial service vehicle safely and efficiently
Load and secure clients in the vehicle for transport
Oversee client safety and well-being during the trip
Interact with clients, their families and healthcare staffs in a professional courteous manner
Lightly promote the company's services as opportunities arise
Manage facility and appointment check-in/check-out processes on behalf of the client
Maintain a safe and clean operating environment inside and outside of the vehicle
Skills and Requirements:
Licensing
Minimum 25 years of age
Valid Illinois driver license (CDL is not required)
No moving violations in last 3 years.
No motor vehicle related arrests or suspensions in last 10 years
Ability to operate a commercial service vehicle in a safe and competent manner
Customer Service and Communication Skills
Professional presentation and appearance
Excellent interpersonal skills
Fluent in written and spoken English
Ability to engage clients in a friendly, positive, empathetic way
Client-centric attitude -awareness of client's physical condition and needs
Ability to maintain composure in an occasionally fast-paced work environment
Physical Requirements
Ability to push, pull and maneuver occupied wheelchairs up and down inclines, steps and curbs
Extensive bending, squatting, stooping
Pick up minimum 50 pounds
