The Prince William County Department of Social Services (DSS) is seeking a results-oriented and tech-savvy Human Services Caseworker to provide support in the Customer Support and Services (CSS) Division.

The Prince William Department of Social Services staff of over 480, serve the community through adult and child-welfare programs, public benefits distribution, and homeless prevention services.

ABOUT THIS ROLE:

The VIEW case manager will assess referred TANF participants to the employment and training program. This program requires an early assessment to evaluate and place into core activities.

The VIEW team members will work with Intake and Ongoing eligibility staff to ensure all volunteers are coded correctly in Virginia Case Management System (VaCMS) to appear on the queue.

Outreach in the community is a vital component to the successful outcomes of this program.

The team members will engage with community and county organizations and departments to promote the VIEW program and obtain needed resource information to share with participants.

Involvement with the workforce development center will also provide additional opportunities for the team members to meet and collaborate with others in this career field.

Managing state budget allocations for the VIEW program and ensuring supportive services are administered in accordance with VDSS policy is crucial to equitable distribution of funds.

Attention to detail and organizational skills will ensure administrative paperwork and mandated policy timeframes are adhered to.

This position is hybrid (office/telework) with opportunity to work remotely and in the office / field to provide customer support or community outreach, as needed.


MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:


Bachelor's degree in the human services field; or bachelor's degree in any field accompanied by a minimum of two years appropriate and related experience in a human services related area.


  • Working Knowledge of workforce policies for VIEW or SNAP E&T (12 years of experience)
  • Working Knowledge of VaCMS (34 years of experience)
  • Community Outreach experience
  • Individuals that have SNAP and TANF eligibility experience (35 years experience)
  • Written and verbal communication skills to contribute to State plans and community meeting presentations.

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:

37.5 hours: Monday - Friday


SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must pass local, state, and federal background checks and have a valid driver's license.


ENTRY SALARY RANGE:

$69, $95,579.50 Annually
