Specific responsibilities for this role will include the following:

  • Design, synthesize, and characterize high impact molecules for programs at all stages of discovery.
  • Lead by example in the laboratory, driving program and chemistry strategy execution.
  • Develop and utilize innovative synthetic chemistry strategies to solve complex medicinal chemistry problems.
  • Analyze diverse data sets to build structureactivity relationships and employ in silico tools in the iterative design of target molecules.
  • Actively participate in the recruitment, training, and development of scientific staff
  • Collaborate across departments to identify and validate new targets, which may include collaborative engagement with the external scientific community and leadership of early drug discovery projects.
  • Enhance external scientific presence through authoring significant scientific publications and presentations.

Minimum qualifications:


  • Ph.
D. in chemistry with a minimum of 4 years of industry experience in drug discovery or,

  • M.S. in chemistry with a minimum of 8 years of industry experience in drug discovery or,
  • B.S. in chemistry with a minimum of 12 years of industry experience in drug discovery

Required skills and experience:


  • Experience in therapeutic design, strategy execution, and interpretation of biological data
  • Track record of solving complex chemistry problems
  • Awareness of key scientific and technology advances in the external community
  • Demonstrated leadership in the training and mentoring of team members in synthesis and drug discovery
  • Effective communication, collaboration, and leadership skills in a team environment
