Specific responsibilities for this role will include the following:

Design, synthesize, and characterize high impact molecules for programs at all stages of discovery.
Lead by example in the laboratory, driving program and chemistry strategy execution.
Develop and utilize innovative synthetic chemistry strategies to solve complex medicinal chemistry problems.
Analyze diverse data sets to build structureactivity relationships and employ in silico tools in the iterative design of target molecules.
Actively participate in the recruitment, training, and development of scientific staff
Collaborate across departments to identify and validate new targets, which may include collaborative engagement with the external scientific community and leadership of early drug discovery projects.
Enhance external scientific presence through authoring significant scientific publications and presentations.

Minimum qualifications:

D. in chemistry with a minimum of 4 years of industry experience in drug discovery or,

M.S. in chemistry with a minimum of 8 years of industry experience in drug discovery or,
B.S. in chemistry with a minimum of 12 years of industry experience in drug discovery

Required skills and experience:

Experience in therapeutic design, strategy execution, and interpretation of biological data
Track record of solving complex chemistry problems
Awareness of key scientific and technology advances in the external community
Demonstrated leadership in the training and mentoring of team members in synthesis and drug discovery
Effective communication, collaboration, and leadership skills in a team environment
