    Finance: Tax Accountant (Full-time)

    Trail Drive Management Corporation – Dickies Arena of Fort Worth, TX

    Dickies Arena is a 14,000 seat, spectacular multipurpose venue located adjacent to the Will Rogers Memorial Center campus in Fort Worth, Texas. The arena is owned by the City of Fort Worth and managed by the not-for-profit operating entity, Trail Drive Management Corp (TDMC).

    Dickies Arena hosted 172 events in our last fiscal year and has been nominated for Arena of the year by both the Academy of Country Music and Pollstar Magazine in 2022 and 2023. The arena now ranks 2nd in gross ticket sales and attendance in Billboard Magazine's Worldwide Boxscore Midyear chart among venues of similar size. Our team is growing, and we are looking for energetic and motivated individuals to join us on the journey

    Reports to: VP & CFO

    Salary: Salary for this position is commensurate with education and job experience.

    Classification: Full Time

    Job Description :

    The purpose of the position is to perform all tax compliance and services related to the organizations. This includes evaluating Sales and Use Tax positions, complying with local ordinances, and assisting in the preparation of all yearly returns across multiple entities.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • 3 years of professional tax accounting experience in conjunction with a four-year degree in accounting from an accredited college or university with major coursework in accounting, finance, business administration
    • Experience with tax-exempt organizations 501(c)(3), disregarded entities and Corporations.
    • Solid understanding and experience with federal tax compliance, tax analysis, and tax research.
    • Excellent research and writing skills.
    • Excellent presentation and communications skills
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Accurate and Efficient with ability to meet deadlines.
    • Ability to adapt to new systems quickly.
    • Excellent with use of Excel, Microsoft office, Word, and other computer skills
    • Experience on Accounting platforms preferably SAGE INTACCT
    Essential Duties (Include, but are not limited to the following):
    • Prepare and process all sales and use returns for multiple divisions.
    • Evaluate tax positions of certain contracts.
    • Execute all tax exemption certificates as needed.
    • Analyze and reconcile all Balance sheet accounts related to tax.
    • Lead all Tax audits including but not limited to Sales and Use, Mixed Beverage Sales, and Mixed Beverage Gross Receipts taxes.
    • Assist in preparation of all yearly tax returns.
    • Work within the accounting team and overall be a team player in the company.
    • Assist with developing and maintaining standard operating procedures for accounting processes when applicable.
    • Provide financial reporting as requested by supervisor.
    • Facilitate month-end, quarter-end and year-end close tasks related to taxes.
    • Apply Federal, State, and local laws and regulations pertaining to accounting and auditing work.
    • Complete special projects as assigned by supervisor.
    • Ability to work nights and weekends (event driven).

    • Excellent Excel knowledge including pivot tables and VLOOKUP's.
    • Strong planning skills: Able to manage multiple projects; determines project urgency in a meaningful and practical way; uses goals to guide actions; creates detailed action plans; organizes and schedules people and tasks.
    • Excellent relationship management: Able to develop rapport and positive professional relationships with others; builds and maintains long-term associations; helps others.
    • Ability to prioritize: Able to use sound judgment in evaluating the relative urgency of various issues; appropriately classifies in terms of time sensitivity, impact, complexity, importance, etc.

    Intellectual/Social demands:

    While performing duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to multi-task under time limits and with moderate to high pressure situations. Position requires constant attention to details and accuracy of specified standards including following simple to complex (more than 3 steps) instructions, and concentration which frequently extends beyond 30 minutes at a time. This position requires frequent use of interpersonal skills with internal and external clients, to be able to work both independently and/or part of a team, and to be able to recognize and resolve conflicts.

    Physical demands:

    While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee will frequently operate a computer and other office devices such as calculators, telephones, copy machines, and printers. Employee must constantly communicate via telephone, email and in-person with others and exchange accurate information while on the job.

    Work environment:

    The duties of this position are performed primarily indoors but event work is at times required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, with the exception of event days, where the sound levels may be higher than moderate.
