Only with the help of sophisticated precision tools can the individual components of complex systems such as window regulators be manufactured in the required quantity and quality. As a tool mechanic, you are responsible for the development, creation, and maintenance of these tools. The training lasts three and a half years. With this foundation, you can then begin a variety of further training courses, such as becoming an industrial foreman/woman in the field of metal or a mechanical engineering technician.

These are your tasks:
  • Manufacturing of components using hand-held tools and machines, as well as conventional machine tools
  • Manufacturing of mechanical assemblies with drive units
  • Maintenance of tools and fixtures
  • Functional testing of individual parts and assemblies
  • Commissioning of control systems such as pneumatics and hydraulics
