    Chicago, IL

    Description

    The salary range for the role is $60,000 - $65,000 per year.

    An HR Generalist plays a crucial role in managing various aspects of human resources within an organization.

    Administering Compensation and Benefit Plans:

    • HR Generalists are responsible for assisting with compensation and benefit programs. They ensure that employees receive fair and competitive pay and benefits.
    • This involves reviewing salary data, conducting market research, and assisting with recommendations.

    Assisting in Talent Acquisition and Recruitment Processes:

    • HR Generalists collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and create job descriptions.
    • They participate in recruitment efforts, including sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and facilitating the hiring process.

    Employee Onboarding and Training & Development:

    • HR Generalists play a key role in onboarding new employees. They help them understand company policies, benefits, and their rights.
    • Additionally, they organize training programs and development initiatives to enhance employees' skills and knowledge.

    Developing and Implementing HR Policies:

    • HR Generalists contribute to the implementation of human resource policies.
    • These policies cover areas such as attendance, leave, performance management, and workplace behavior.

    Performance Management:

    • They assist in performance management processes, including conducting performance reviews and providing feedback.
    • HR Generalists also gather and analyze HR metrics (e.g., time to hire, turnover rates) to improve organizational effectiveness.

    Maintaining Employee Records:

    • They ensure accurate and confidential record-keeping for all employees, both in electronic and paper formats.
    • Proper documentation is essential for compliance and historical reference.

    In summary, HR Generalists wear many hats, from recruitment to policy development, and contribute significantly to creating a positive and efficient workplace.

    Requirements

    The successful candidate will possess:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
    • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
    • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
    • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.
    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
    • At least two (2) years of human resources experience required; will consider internship experience
    • At least one (1) year of recruitment experience
    • SHRM-CP a plus.
