DESCRIPTION:

We are currently seeking highly qualified applicants to work at the US Air Force Test Pilot School, specifically supporting development and delivery of a Test and Evaluation training course for US Space Force personnel including operators and engineers.

This in-residence course is currently offered two times each year with dedicated facilities onboard Edwards AFB.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Space Test & Evaluation Technical Expert will be responsible for:

• Lead the Astronautical Sciences Branch of USAF TPS
• Provide expert advise to the course director to guide curriculum development, course policies and assist in establishing new capabilities
• Coordinate instructor and guest lecture support as needed
• Coordinate with USAF Test Pilot School course director to ensure course logístical and administrative support requirements are planned and executed for each class
• Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Masters degree in an engineering or related technical field with at least 8 years of experience with any combination of space operations/acquisition, test and evaluation, and/or systems testing. At least 3 years of experience must be directly related to space operations
• Demonstrated experience in operation or acquisition of space systems
• Thorough knowledge of Test and Evaluation procedures on a major acquisition program
• Must be willing to work full time, on site at Edwards Air Force Base
• Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• PhD in an engineering or related technical field preferred
• Active Top Secret security clearance highly desired
• Test Pilot School graduate (USAF, USN, Empire, or EPNER) highly desired
• Experience delivering instruction to adult learners in an academic environment
• Experience with software tools such as MatLab/Simulink or Systems Tool Kit (STK)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and webbased collaborative resources such as SharePoint and Microsoft Teams
