Job Introduction

Are you interested in an internship that will allow you to gain hands-on experience and apply what you've learned in the classroom to a real work environment? Our internship program is designed to provide current college students interested in a career in consumer goods with a unique opportunity to learn firsthand about the diverse business operations of William Grant & Sons.

Our paid summer internship is an 11-week program from June 3 to August 16, 2024. This internship will be on-site 3 days a week, maximum of 29 hours per week, located in our Edison, NJ office. Local candidates only.

This is a non-exempt role, $25 - $30 per hour.

Main Responsibility

Accountabilities:

Working closely with the Finance teams to become familiar of all aspects of Finance divisions.
Supporting monthly reconciliation of volume, gross sales, and G/L accounts
Perform ad hoc analysis on business / financial issues
Apply functional academic knowledge and skills to the specific internship position with a professional approach
Validates, enters, reconciles, and audits routine finance information.
Assists with costing, projecting, analyzing and organizing data.
Participate in key departmental projects: system upgrades, efficiency enhancements, implementation of new accounting standards, changes in reporting, etc.
Own an individual project with strategic business impact and present your findings to senior leaders.
Gain exposure to broader brand marketing, operations, legal, and commercial side of the business

Our Ideal Candidate

Skills and Qualifications:

At least 21 years of age
Applicants must be lawfully authorized to work in the U.S. WG&S does not offer visa or student visa sponsorship.
Currently enrolled in a 4-year college or university in their Senior year pursuing a Bachelor's degree or in a Graduate level degree program with relevant coursework focused on Finance, Accounting, or similar field
Proficient experience utilizing MS Excel (v look up formulas, pivot tables), Word, Power Point
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Embodies a strong work ethic and attention to detail and is self-motivated.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects and assignments.
Agile, flexible, and responsive
Eager to learn and a team player
