Description

We're looking for a Conference Service Manager who will be a critical part of the sales organization at our properties in Santa Monica.

You will be responsible for cultivating and activating the strategic sales strategies, tactics, and action plans required to achieve your hotel's financial and market share goals, while collaborating with the revenue, marketing, and operations team to optimize the customer journey.

This is an exempt position that reports to the Area Director of Sales and Marketing.


The Conference Services Manager is responsible for operational follow through on all definite groups, including setting up group reservations and detailing banquet events.


General Responsibilities Include:


  • Manage all contracted and courtesy social group blocks such as weddings and engagements
  • Set up all groups in Delphi and CI/TY ensuring correct room blocking and billing
  • Manage engagement photo shoots for social events, inroom and PR related inquiries
  • Create group resumes and banquet event orders outlining all group/event details
  • Lead Pre-Con group meetings and conduct/attend department meetings
  • Creatively upsell all opportunities for conference groups by utilizing knowledge of culinary techniques, menu items, banquet set ups, room décor, and audiovisual resources
  • Maintain open communication with Banquets, Culinary, and operational departments to ensure smooth execution of events
  • Participating in client entertainment, conducting site inspections
  • Report pertinent information regarding each group of function to the Director of Sales or appropriate Sales manager
  • Actively participate in sales presentations

Skills/Knowledge Required:


  • Strong computer literacy, with knowledge of Word, Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Exceptional communication skills, passionate, strategic and innovative
  • Able to develop strong work relationships with both Clients and Colleagues
  • Selfconfident, proactive, and able to prioritize and make effective decisions
  • Ability to implement processes and methods
  • Ability to manage a budget and maximize customer satisfaction
  • Ability to solve complex problems in an organized manner
  • Skills including Delphi, HIS programs, and creating banquet event orders

Physical Requirements:


  • Must be able to sit at a desk, walk, and stand for up to four (4) hours
  • Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 15 lbs.
  • Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, multiline touch tone phone, filing cabinets, FAX machines, photocopiers, dolly and other office equipment as needed
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity

Qualification Standards:


Education:
High school or equivalent education required. Bachelor's Degree preferred


Experience:
One (1) to two (2) years previous experience in a similar role at a luxury hotel

EOE The expected pay range for this position is $70,000 - $75,000 + Bonus Plan.
