- The Senior Database Analyst manages and maintains current databases, as well as devises internal site-specific enhancements or future replacements to current databases while ensuring data confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
- Develop, implement, and oversee database policies and procedures
- Perform database operations, activity scheduling, logging, patching, maintenance, backups, and data warehousing
- Develop and deploy ETL solutions and reports to support applications, data integration, and operational needs
- Assist application and web development staff and users with applying database solutions to business problems
- Manage database performance optimization through monitoring, indexing, database structural improvements, and hardware/software upgrades
- Perform database and associated software life-cycle activities to ensure peak system performance
- Ensure data compliance with State Department requirements
- Recommend and implement current and emerging database tools, technologies, and best practices to continually improve customer experience
- Review proposed database changes to understand impact to supported applications and operations
- Lead database migration efforts
- Mentor fellow IT staff in database management
- Active SECRET security clearance at the time of hiring is preferred or must be able to obtain an interim SECRET clearance
- Must live within 90 miles of Portsmouth, NH, and be a U.S. citizen.
- DBA experience with Microsoft SQL Server
