    Description

    Overview

At STV, we not only tackle world-class projects, but we also develop employee skills, recognize achievements, and offer opportunities for advancement. We are a nationally recognized multidisciplinary AEC firm with 65 offices throughout the US and over 3,300 employees. We advise, plan, design, engineer, and manage infrastructure that strengthens communities and powers local economies.

We don't just pursue projects - we pursue impact.

And we're looking for a National Pursuit Leader who can amplify our competitive edge, elevate our national presence, and drive high-stakes wins. If you thrive in fast-paced environments, excel at shaping strategy, and love leading interdisciplinary teams toward bold outcomes, this is the executive-level opportunity you've been waiting for.

    Role Overview

As STV's National Pursuit Leader, you'll be the strategic engine and driving force behind our highest-value pursuits, including the billion-dollar programs, alternative-delivery megaprojects and competitive must-win opportunities that determine the firm's growth trajectory across the U.S.

You will lead at the intersection of sales strategy, executive alignment and competitive intelligence, spearheading campaigns and competitive positioning for opportunities across Transportation, Buildings, PMCM and Water markets. You will champion major pursuits and drive the overall competitive positioning and sales process, including managing pursuit teams focused on client engagement, capture planning, strategy development, and innovative delivery to achieve winning results for our top pursuits.

As a National Pursuit Leader, you will research market trends, new technologies, and potential clients in the targeted growth market, collaborating with internal subject matter experts to define the company's value proposition and strategic offerings. Critical to this role is the ability to shape go-to-market strategies to successfully compete in new markets and geographies.

    Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief Sales Officer, you take ownership of STV's most strategic national pursuits - driving the marketing and sales efforts that shape our growth across Transportation, Buildings, PMCM, and Water. You will engage regional and local teams across the country, traveling as needed to align stakeholders and sharpen our competitive edge. As the hands-on leader of mega pursuits, you will own every phase of strategy development and competitive positioning, guiding teams with confidence, clarity, and decisive direction, including:

    • Pursuit Management
      • Lead and support large, complex pursuits across Transportation, Buildings, Water, and Program/Program Management/Construction Management (PM/CM).
      • You'll facilitate team strategy, drive early positioning, conduct competitive assessments and SWOT analyses, shape communications and media approaches, build teaming strategies, and incorporate innovative solutions and digital tools to strengthen STV's competitive advantage.
    • Team Facilitation
      • Coordinate and engage seamlessly with teaming partners and internal technical leaders - including thought leaders, subject matter experts, discipline managers, and joint venture partners - ensuring alignment, clarity, and collaboration throughout the pursuit lifecycle.
    • Proposal and Presentation Strategy
      • Develop creative, compelling ideas that highlight STV's differentiators.
      • You leverage enhanced graphics, media, and storytelling techniques, and you provide confident, actionable coaching to help individuals and teams deliver polished, client-focused presentations.
    • Production Oversight
      • Oversee proposal managers and pursuit support teams, ensuring the pursuit strategy is executed with precision at every stage of proposal and presentation development.
      • You safeguard quality, consistency, and alignment with STV's national brand.
    • Strategic Planning
      • You'll lead the development of strategic initiatives that unlock new growth opportunities across emerging markets and geographies.
      • You help shape investment decisions, identify resource needs, define branding and visibility strategies, influence media campaigns, and map tactical actions that strengthen STV's national market position.

What you'll bring to the role

    • You bring a minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience leading successful pursuits and driving market growth within the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry.
    • You have led major pursuits and strategic growth initiatives for AEC programs exceeding $500M in construction value, demonstrating command of complex, high-stakes opportunities.
    • You excel as a communicator - your oral, written, and visual communication skills enable you to influence, inspire, and clarify strategy at all levels.
    • You demonstrate strong critical thinking, creativity, and sales strategy development, with a proven ability to craft differentiators that win.
    • You thrive in collaborative environments, bringing exceptional facilitation and leadership skills to multidisciplinary teams and executive stakeholders.

    Required Education

    • You have a Bachelor\'s degree in a related professional field such as business development, marketing, communications, or a similar field.
    • Candidates may substitute comparable experience for educational requirements.

    Compensation Range: $207, $259,607.18

Don\'t meet every single requirement? Studies have shown that women and people of color are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single qualification. At STV, we are fully committed to expanding our culture of diversity and inclusion, one that will reflect the clients we serve and the communities we work in, so if you\'re excited about this role but your past experience doesn\'t align perfectly with every qualification in the job description we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.

STV offers the following benefits: Health insurance, including an option with a Health Savings Account; Dental insurance; Vision insurance; Flexible Spending Accounts (Healthcare, Dependent Care and Transit and Parking where applicable); Disability insurance; Life Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment; 401(k) Plan; Retirement Counseling; Employee Assistance Program; Paid Time Off (16 days); Paid Holidays (9 days); Back-Up Dependent Care (up to 10 days per year); Parental Leave (up to 80 hours); Continuing Education Program; Professional Licensure and Society Memberships.

STV is committed to paying all of its employees in a fair, equitable, and transparent manner. The listed pay range is STV's good-faith salary estimate for this position.
