    Job Description

    AECOMis seeking anEntry-Level Environmental Engineerto be based in ourOrange, Sacramento, Long BeachorOakland, Californiaoffice. This position will support our Remediation team within our Environment business line.

    This position is expected to begin in August 2024.

    The Entry-Level Environmental Engineer will support our Remediation team in California. We are seeking a motivated candidate who would like to develop and advance in a full-time environmental remediation career. The successful candidate will have a background in environmental engineering.

    The job responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

    Support AECOM projects in the areas of contaminated sediments, soil, and groundwater remediation and environmental compliance.


    Perform field work such as monitoring or sampling of various media to support data collection and data management for projects.


    Work with senior level staff to support technical analysis and deliverables for current and prospective clients for remedial investigations, feasibility studies, remedial design, remedial action, fate and transport modeling, innovative sampling approaches, etc.

    Builds analytic and design skills.

    Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

    Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

    Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

    Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.

    Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.

    Maintain positive working relationships with client contacts, suppliers, contractors, engineering consultants, and external agencies.

    Technical writing will be a main part of this position, assisting with environmental site assessments and soil/groundwater investigation reporting.

    Engage in internal Technical Practice Groups, coordinate with company's regional and national experts, and professional development.
