- Design isolated/non-isolated power supplies and associated analog and/or digital components for RF amplifiers and electronic systems.
- Coordinate and conduct reviews of schematic and PCB layouts.
- Create and apply EMI/EMC compliant and other circuit protection designs such as transient suppression, EMI filters, and shielding.
- Develop firmware & digital circuits for power amplifiers and other electronics, potentially utilizing FPGAs, CPLDs, DSPs, processors, high-speed data converters, signal conditioning, and power conversion circuits. Prepare VHDL and C/C# code as needed to meet the Company's commitments.
- Thorough understanding of pertinent MIL level standards like MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-704.
- Conduct DVT level and production level verification.
- Lead and oversee the development of embedded code and PC graphical user interfaces created in C and Visual C#.
- Provide technical input and write-ups for proposals.
- Maintain up-to-date design records, including regular use of the company firmware repository and release of documents and firmware.
- Guide and mentor junior Hardware Engineers within the department by offering training on new material, peer reviewing existing work, and assisting with troubleshooting efforts.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
- Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking abilities.
- Hold a bachelor's engineering degree in electrical engineering, electronics, computer engineering, or related fields.
- Possess at least 8 years of hands-on experience in developing and testing electronic products.
- This role involves access to technology, materials, software, or hardware regulated by ITAR or EAR U.S. export regulations. As a condition of employment, you must be able to obtain U.S. Government export license(s) when necessary.
- Have experience in A/D and D/A.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly articulate technical matters, ideas, and project status to colleagues and management.
- Demonstrated teamwork skills with other cross-functional teams to achieve objectives or goals.
- Familiarity with FPGA USB, SPI, I2C, and CAN Bus, along with embedded controller system experience.
- Proficiency in code debugging, DC/DC, and AC/DC power supply troubleshooting, PCB layout and design, as well as familiarity with schematic capture software.
- Hold a master's engineering degree in electrical engineering, electronics, computer engineering, or related fields.
- Experience with circuit simulation and validation software.
- Proactive work approach, showing initiative and the ability to work independently.
- Capability to guide junior engineers.
- Hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
