Results Statement:
The mission of a Geotechnical Lab and field Technician I for HVJ, a leading specialty engineering firm in Texas, is to support the project manager, Laboratory Manager, or other staff as directed to assure client satisfaction following the applicable standards, specifications and company guidelines.
Ongoing Work:
- Perform basic laboratory testing
- Perform field logging and coordination.
- Perform advanced testing under the supervision of more senior staff
- Document work performed by number of tests or time spent, as appropriate
- Communicate test results to client when required
- Provide support on engineering projects as directed
- Assist other personnel at the direction of manager
- Perform duties in a safe, cheerful, efficient, and workmanlike manner
Key Criteria/Requirements:
- Possess High School Diploma
- Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering preferred
- Experience in soil borehole logging or laboratory testing of soil samples preferred.
- Ability to lift concrete, soil, or asphalt samples as a routine part of the job.
- Ability and willingness to perform yearround outdoor work when requested preferred
- Valid Texas Driver's License with no history of accidents or alcohol/drug related traffic offenses
