- Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of patient specimens according to established procedures. Perform specimen collection and other specimen handling duties as needed.
- Operate complex biomedical electronic instrumentation including calibration, maintenance, quality assurance and troubleshooting.
- Perform and analyze quality control procedures including daily testing, recording, problem resolution and compiling reports to assure accuracy of all results.
- Review and verify the accuracy of tests results before entering in information system.
- Maintain a proper inventory of supplies needed in order to provide continuous service, minimizing downtime.
- Evaluate test results for accuracy, reportability and clinical significance and report accordingly.
- Maintain current knowledge of specialty by attending seminars, in-services and reading journals.
- Evaluate new methodologies and instrumentation under the guidance of the Section Chief and report findings and recommendations.
- Assume supervisory responsibilities in absence of Department Head. Orient and train new employees/students.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.

ResponsibilitiesSpecifications:
MLT:
An Associates degree in Medical lab Technology and a minimum of six months job-related experience or equivalent is required.
RI License and ASCP/AMT is also required.MT:
A Bachelors degree in Medical technology or Specific Science and a minimum of six months job-related experience or equivalent is required.
