Research Scientist, Embodied AI (PhD) Responsibilities:

Develop algorithms based on state-of-the-art machine learning and neural network methodologies.
Define, build and benchmark new capabilities needed for the next generation of AI.
Conduct research towards longterm ambitious research goals while identifying intermediate milestones.
Conduct research to advance the science and technology of intelligent machines.
Conduct research that enables learning the semantics of data across multiple modalities (images, video, text, audio, speech and other modalities).

Minimum Qualifications:

Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a PhD degree in the field of Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Language, a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
Research experience in Digital Agents, Vision Language Models, Computer Vision, LLMs, NLP, reinforcement learning and tool usage.
Experience communicating research for public audiences of peers.
Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, as well as publications at leading workshops, journals or conferences such as CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, NeurIPS, or SIGGRAPH.
Demonstrated research and software engineering experience via an internship, work experience, coding competitions, or widely used contributions in open source repositories (e.g. GitHub).
Experience solving complex problems and comparing alternative solutions, tradeoffs, and diverse points of view to determine a path forward.
Experience working and communicating cross functionally in a team environment.
