Overview

We are currently looking for a Junior Systems Administrator to support a Network Operations Center for the National Background Investigation Services (NBIS) system. The candidate must be within commuting distance of Hanover, MD. Candidates are expected to live locally and be able to go to the customer site one to two days a week as needed.

Responsibilities

Operate an AWS GovCould hosting service with various capabilities, tools, and services to offer a modern automated DevSecOps environment for the NBIS application.
Resolve tier 2 trouble tickets or escalate to the tier 3 team.
Provide efficient Tier 2 application support including ticket triage, assignment, and resolution. Also, monitor system and service support trends and collaborate with existing Tier 1 and Tier 3 teams regularly for effective and timely support.
Utilize ServiceNow for managing Help Desk Trouble Tickets for NBIS.
Collaborate with other Tier support teams to share insights and create knowledge articles to resolve tickets efficiently at the lowest tier possible.
Monitor NBIS and related applications through logs, dashboards, and support reports to detect and respond to events affecting usability, performance, and quality of the applications.
Use this information to identify and report issues promptly, minimizing user impact and service support tickets.
Monitor the application support process to ensure adherence to timelines.
Expected normal operating hours: Monday-Friday; for Shift A or Shift B.

Qualifications

High School diploma with 3-6 years of experience.
1-3 years of experience in Network/System Administration.
Experience with cloud services, preferably AWS.
8570 certification in security + Must be within commuting distance to Hanover, MD.
Required Clearance: TOP Secret.
