    QC Specialist III/CWI - Long Beach, United States - Bragg Companies

    Description


    The QC Specialist - III is responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of welded and bolted structures, products, and components.

    They evaluate welding and bolting processes, procedures, and materials to ensure compliance with Company, Customer and Industry codes, standards, and specifications.

    The QC Specialist - III conducts and documents inspections, tests, and audits to verify that welds, bolted connections, and materials meet the required quality standards.

    The QC Specialist - III issues recommendations and nonconformance reports for deficiencies found during inspections or fixed equipment and follows-up to ensure proper timely completion of repairs.

    The QC Specialist – III is required to understand and follow all OSHA, Company and Customer safety standards and regulations applicable to the varying situation and conditions encountered in the performance of their duties.

    Understand, communicate, and enforce the BRAGG Companies' Safety Program.

    Inspect and perform quality testing on materials and manufactured equipment such as vessels, tanks, and piping systems, during construction and maintenance activities.

    Document inspections and ensure that documentation is accurate and timely.
    Oversee junior QC Generalist assigned to assist on projects.
    Complete assignments and tasks independently.
    Oversee and complete projects with limited oversight.
    Will be expected to direct personnel.
    Provide accurate and timely reports to customers and management as directed.
    Develop positive relationships with customers and regulatory representatives.
    Travel to local and remote job locations is required.
    Maintain and assemble documents for job packages.
    Must comply with Company Drug and Alcohol Policy.

    Required Skills & Knowledge:
    Excellent facilitation and communications skills.
    Ability to understand and follow instructions and complete tasks in an efficient and timely manner.

    Ability to read and interpret Codes, Specifications and Jurisdictional requirements, understand when they are applicable and how to implement those requirements.

    Ability to review Welding Procedures and Welder Qualifications to verify applicability to projects.
    Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, ISOs, P&IDs, and similar standard industry documents.
    Ability to use Word and Excel programs for completing forms and welding logs/maps. `
    Must have a valid driver's license and comply with Company driving policy.

    Environmental Conditions:
    Works in climate-controlled office 25% of the time.

    May work in varying weather:
    hot, cold, and wet conditions.
    Frequently works in areas with large industrial equipment subject to high noise levels.
    May infrequently work in areas with hazardous chemicals.
    Working outside within client compound, often a refinery.

    Includes climbing, and potential exposure to high and continuous levels of noise, vibration, extremes of temperatures and hot equipment, hydrocarbon vapors, fumes, and exposure to refinery chemicals.

    May be required to sit, stand, stoop, bend, and crouch for long periods of time.

    Education and Experience:
    High school diploma or GED equivalent.

    10+ years working in the structural erection, refining, power, petrochemical, or related industry with majority of work experience being QC related.

    Must have a minimum of (1) nationally recognized inspection certification.

    Salary:
    $110-$120K annually
