The Diving Coordinator - Virginia coordinates diving operations with the Phoenix Program Manager and the Navy. Overall responsibility for ensuring that Naval Diving Equipment is stored, maintained, and shipped in accordance with guidelines.

The Diving Program Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the objectives of the Naval Diving Equipment Management Program are met.

They coordinate with the Program Manager for direct operations, and they are responsible for directly coordinating with all concerned department managers to ensure that the objectives of the program are achieved in a timely manner.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Designs and develops new diving equipment and systems, including familiarity with equipment maintenance procedures, and modifications of existing equipment and configuration management procedures.
  • Estimates time and cost to design, develop/procure, systemize, and test diving equipment.
  • Monitors scheduled performance of tasks internally and with subcontractors.
  • Effectively and efficiently manages and directs complex repair, warehousing, test, and inspection processes.
  • Controls daytoday commitments and accounting of Naval Diving Equipment funding.
  • Verifies that PM personnel are qualified in basic as well as Naval Diving Equipment PM procedures.
  • Assists the QA Manager in conducting QA audits and in ensuring that action is taken to correct noted deficiencies.
  • Maintains the PM check sheet log and a file of completed PM check sheets on each system/equipment, including copies of reentry control (REC) forms, Repair Estimate/Condition Reports, and other needed documentation.
  • Reviews computer entries and ensures that data has been properly entered.
  • Ensures that PM personnel adhere to the guidelines of the configuration management (CM) plan, and that PM on an item does not alter the configuration of the item beyond what has been approved on the engineering change proposal (ECP).
  • Opens and closes RECs.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:


  • Prefer undergraduate degree or higher from an accredited university.
  • 10 years of experience in the management of diving equipment related maintenance and quality assurance activities; and marine operations and systems. Absent a degree, 15 years of experience is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in the design and development of new diving equipment and systems including familiarity with equipment maintenance procedures, and modifications of existing equipment and configuration management procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to estimate time and cost to design, develop/ procure, systemize, and test diving equipment and to monitor scheduled performance against such tasks for inhouse and with subcontractors.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently manage and direct complex repair, warehousing, test, and inspection processes.
  • Through understanding of financial management, subcontracting management, preparation and understanding of specifications.
  • Must hold or be eligible for DoD personal security clearance at the 'SECRET' level.
