Description
Job Title:
Quality Management Specialist at ABC Healthcare
Summary:
Responsible for overseeing Quality Management across all sections of the laboratory, focusing on Quality, Safety, Risk, and Performance Improvement. Ensures alignment with organizational goals and relevant regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Meet the expectations of the OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
- Manage and enhance departmental and staff customer service initiatives to boost associate morale and reduce turnover.
- Assist in decision-making processes related to personnel management, including hiring, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
- Oversee associate education to ensure compliance with best practices and timely communication for informed associates.
- Monitor and maintain Quality Management and Performance Improvement, including QC programs, proficiency testing, and continuous service enhancement.
- Ensure compliance with accrediting agencies such as CAP, AABB, CLIA, JCAHO, OSHA, etc.
- Maintain accurate statistics on productivity, performance indicators, and quality management.
- Manage equipment functionality, personnel training, and equipment service contracts in collaboration with Administration.
- Develop operational policies and procedures for laboratory-related departments.
- Provide technical expertise for problem-solving in related departments.
- Perform testing across different complexities when required.
- Represent the laboratory on designated hospital committees.
Committees:
Infection Control, Blood Utilization Committee, Quality Management, Safety Committee, etc.
- Assist in other duties as needed to support current manager and director.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in clinical laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution or equivalent experience meeting CLIA regulations.
- 3-5 years of Clinical Laboratory Experience in moderate/high complexity testing preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of Supervisory experience required.
- Certification for MLS, MLT, MT from ASCP, AMT, AAB, or HEW/HHS.
- Must maintain a current and valid certification if it has an expiration date.
