    Location: Remote, less than 10% domestic and international travel required

    Overview:

    The Institute for Healthcare Optimization (IHO) is in search of a skilled, motivated, and highly analytical professional intrigued by applying scientific operations management techniques to drive positive changes in health systems across the US and Canada. As the Data Manager, your role involves overseeing data analytics operations to steer strategic decision-making, enhance processes, and support hospital operations redesign projects, research, and educational initiatives. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will ensure data integrity, establish reporting frameworks, and implement data governance practices.

    This role entails leading a team of analysts to streamline data requisition, collection, analysis, and reporting. You should have experience with hospital and healthcare operations data, advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, familiarity with various statistical and analytic tools, the ability to handle large data sets, as well as consulting and presentation skills. Preferred qualifications include prior experience collaborating with diverse international teams comprising physicians, nurses, healthcare administrators, and decision support professionals. Moreover, this position offers exposure to senior management at IHO along with its healthcare clients.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide supervision and mentorship to a team of analysts, offering guidance, support, and necessary training
    • Oversee the complete data lifecycle, from requisition to collection, review, and analysis, ensuring data quality and consistency
    • Conduct analytics on healthcare operations data using tools like Excel, Tableau, Power BI, Queuing and Simulation software, or similar
    • Engage in presenting analyses to IHO leadership and clients, effectively communicating findings and recommendations
    • Collaborate in developing patient flow assessment reports, ensuring accuracy and relevance
    • Work closely with IHO project managers, analysts, and simulation engineers to implement optimization strategies
    • Conduct research to support ongoing optimization strategy enhancements
    • Handle ad hoc projects assigned by IHO leadership, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability
    • Occasional travel to client sites (less than 10%) for project discussions and meetings

    • Proficiency in evaluating and scrubbing healthcare operations data for quality and consistency
    • Keen interest in personal and organizational growth, with a proactive approach to skill development

    Desired Skills and Experience:

    • Preferred 7+ years of healthcare data analysis experience, with expertise in data manipulation and visualization tools such as Excel, Power BI, and Tableau
    • Minimum 5 years of experience with healthcare operations data, including scheduling and surgery case data
    • At least 3 years of experience in mentoring and managing analyst teams
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other data visualization tools
    • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
    • Effective oral and written presentation skills for engagement with various stakeholders
    • Experience working with physicians and clinicians
    • Familiarity with hospital IT systems, such as GE, Meditech, Cerner, Epic, etc.
    • Knowledge of statistics and operations research methods like queuing analysis and discrete event simulation

    Offering a competitive salary of $100K-110K per year, based on experience
