Essential Job Functions: - This position is contingent on the availability and continuation of externalfunding and/or contract. As such, any offer of employment may be withdrawn or employment ended in the event the external funding and/or contract ceases or is reduced.
- 1. Plans and implements an appropriate curriculum.
- 2. Establishes an enriching, safe, and clean classroom and playground environment.
- 3. Demonstrates effective class management.
- 4. Designs and develops learning materials.
- 5. Establishes and maintains open lines of communication with participating parents and coworkers.
- 6.
Fulfills work obligations including:
promptness, staff meetings, open house attendance, and parent orientations.
- 7. Maintains a professional posture regarding program participants, coworkers, and administration.
- 8. Performs other duties as assigned or required
Marginal Job Functions:
- 1. Presents at professional workshops.
- 2. Assists staff in special project assignments.
- 3. Attends Family Center and University sponsored functions
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Ability to lift, carry, and put down up to fifty (50) pounds on a continuous basis. Repeated lifting and placing down of children required.
Job Requirements:
Required Certifications/Licensures:
- 1. Successful completion of the FDLE Background Screening.
- 2. Must complete prior to the first day of employment the online Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect Training (4hour course).
- 3. Must complete within ninety (90) days of hire the state mandated Early Literacy for Children Birth to Three childcare trainings (5hour course).
- 4. Complete yearly inservice trainings provided by the NSU University School Preschool
Required Education:
- Bachelor's Degree
Major (if required): - In field or 12 credits in field
Required Experience: - None
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1. Valid State of Florida Certification Certificate.
- 2. One(1) year successful experience working with children from birth to ten (10) years of age.
- 3. Graduate degree in early childhood or related field.
- 4. Familiarity, knowledge and demonstration of appropriate, positive, parenting techniques and interactions.
