Import Coordinator

Key Responsibilities:
- Effectively support data gathering efforts required for the miscellaneous compliance projects. Utilize access rights to the major DGF Customer proprietary system in order to research product parts information. Interact with Business Unit representatives as necessary to get product details.
- Achieve a basic level of knowledge on principals of HTS classification by participating in a DHL Basic Classification Training curriculum conducted by DHL's Import Compliance team.
- Screen box entries to identify teaching opportunities for the entry teams to increase their knowledge of historical processes and resources that will expedite file entries
- Manage updates to the parts catalog as needed, and ensure transmission of data to DHL system (parts database)
- Analyze and action DHL exception report to identify repeat offenders for missing/incomplete information
- Communicate with Business Unit representatives to offer specific instruction on data element requirements for imports so DHL can submit a timely and compliant entry to USCBP.
- Provide support and guidance for other US classification issues and projects as they arise including support for 3rd Party classification provider
- Support U.S. Import Compliance on Free Trade Agreements and other Duty Reduction programs
- Support the US Assist entry reporting process
- Conduct US Entry Audits prior to Entry Summary for HTS, Unit Code, MID, Country of Origin, and value anomalies
- Participate and contribute ideas and information on biweekly internal Tier 1 support team conference calls. Share ideas, projects that are in progress, opportunities & obstacles
- Participate and contribute ideas and information on monthly DHL import compliance team conference calls.
- Seek opportunities to improve current work processes and bring your ideas forward to management and peers. Be a thought leader. Be a problem solver.
- Document identified opportunities to improve work flow problem resolution.
- Obtain/Maintain Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) certification
- Build and maintain work instructions as necessary to include in our DHL SWOB Work Instruction I Share repository
- Participate in DHL C2 training curriculum and achieve a proficiency level in its use as it relates to research, business analytics and generating ad hoc brokerage related reports for Deere
- Other tasks as assigned by DHL
Skills & Qualifications:
- Solid experience using MS Office Products
- Critical thinking, trouble shooting skills
- Understanding of imports and compliance
- Knowledge of customs brokerage preferred
- Bachelor's degree desired
- Detail oriented
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to exceed in a team environment
