Job Summary:


Stein Mitchell Beato & Missner is looking for a motivated, self-directed, and detail-oriented applicant to fill a legal assistant/paralegal position on its medical malpractice/personal injury team.

This position would involvesupporting lawyers with all steps of the litigation process, from client intake to post-resolution wrap-up.

Though prior personal injury litigation experience is preferred, it is not necessary for anyone willing and able to adapt quickly to a demanding environment.


Responsibilities & Duties:

Schedule meetings and depositions

File pleadings in various court jurisdictions (e.g. MD, VA, DC)

Enter attorney time

Draft and proofread pleadings, demands, etc.

Request medical records/bills

Organize records and materials for case evaluation

Draft letters and correspondence

Maintain in-house filing conventions

Provide light technical support

Anticipate attorney needs


Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's degree required.

At least 1-2 years of personal injury paralegal experience preferred, but not required.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.


Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, deliver results, and maintain quality while working under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Exceptional organizational skills.

Team-oriented mentality.

Demonstrated proficiency and experience with broad range of computer software.

Strong research skills.


Salary:

DOE

Hours:9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. (Plus overtime, as required)


Ability to Relocate:

  • Washington, DC 20006: Relocate before starting work (required)
