Exciting Opportunityto become theResidency Program Director for theAlbany Med Health System Department of Psychiatryin beautiful upstate NY.Working closely with the Department Chair,the Program Director is responsible for the leadership, organization, operation, andadministration of theresidencyandwillmaintainthe strategic aims of the program, shaping and overseeingits standards, quality, and reputation.
The Program Director will complywith the guidelines of Albany Med's Graduate Medical Education department (GME) andrepresent the concerns ofresidents and the Departmentto the GME Committeeas well as thephysician practices,hospital clinical services,and outpatient clinicsin a manner thatfosters excellence within the educational environment, resident wellness, and superior professional service.
Major training sites include Albany Med's Emergency Department, a Level 1 trauma center;a community crisis center;theoutpatient resident training clinic;a26-bed acute inpatient unit; and other services at theNYSOffice of Mental Health psychiatric center,the Albany VA health system, and localcollege mental health programs.

Requirements:
Must be Board Certified by the ABPN or AOBNP witha minimum of 3 years post-residency participation as afaculty member in an ACGME-accredited psychiatry residency programincluding significantgraduate medical education administrative experience.
Excellent interpersonal, communication,andteam building skillsessential.Candidates with recent scholarly activity(i.e.grantfunding, publicationin peer-reviewed journals, chapters, presentationat scientific meetings, participation in national committees or educationalorganizations)encouraged to apply.
Hours and Compensation:
Full-time position with protected non-clinical administrative timein accordance with ACGME requirements.
