GENERAL SUMMARY:


Under the general supervision of the Dietary Group Leader, the Food Service Worker performs a variety of duties directly related to the set-up, service, breakdown, and clean-up resulting from the provision of food service to clients and employees of Allied Services DSD.

Assigned duties are implemented in a manner appropriate to the age-specific needs of the individuals served.

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent experience preferred.


WORK EXPERIENCE:

Institutional or commercial food service experience preferred.


SPECIAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

Good verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills required for effective communication with staff and visitors.

Must be able to read.

Ability to perform mathematical functions (simple calculations, conversions) required.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


Moderate Work:
duties require exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally (approx 10-33% of shift), and/or up to 10lbs.

of force frequently (approx 33-66% of the time), and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, and move objects (i.e., occasional patient transfers).

Position involves bending, reaching, and stooping (occasionally in strained position) throughout shift.

Individual will be required to stand for prolonged periods of time.

Ability to transport self throughout facility is required.


ACCIDENT OR HEALTH HAZARDS:


WORKING CONDITIONS:

Works in a well-lit, ventilated area.

Occasional variances in temperatures (hot/cold) in performance of normal duties.
