Responsible for the monitoring and overseeing the day-to-day operations of Clinlab outreach phlebotomy services. Standardizing all aspects of operations consistent with a patient centered workflow.

The daily management of all service lines within Clinlab are within scope of this role.

In addition to leadership responsibilities, phlebotomy training is within scope of duties to ensure quality specimens from all service lines and collection points.


Responsibilities:

A day in the life of a Supervisor, Laboratory Outreach at Hackensack Meridian _Health_ includes:

  • Maintains primary responsibility for the daily operations of Clinlab Outreach Services including home phlebotomy, nursing home phlebotomy, physician office phlebotomy and courier services.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of department policies and procedures, provides ongoing problem resolution, training, and in-services.
  • Participates in the interview and hiring process as directed by the manager.
  • Participates in the orientation and tracking of new team members at the direction of the manager.
  • Ensures the department personnel have completed all routine and assigned duties. Directly observes team members to ensure that all HMH Organizational and Managerial competencies and standards of behavior are met.
  • Collaborates with department leadership in annual merit review process and completion of probationary period records. Maintains records of discipline/commendations in team member files.
  • Maintains staffing at all points to ensure adequate coverage in all service lines and works to cover openings as needed, including but not limited to coverage for staffing in the event of a sick outs and injuries.
  • Scheduling to maintain staffing requirements with mínimal overtime.
  • Address disciplinary issues real time while maintaining department records for team member training, competencies, and corrective actions.
  • Manage supply usage of all locations, as well as compliance mandates on providing supplies to office-based providers.
  • Actively participates in Lab Leadership meetings and works collaboratively toward better patient outcomes.
  • Maintains competencies necessary to step into front line team member roles.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
  • Minimum of 5 years phlebotomy/laboratory experience.
  • Communication skills.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Associate Degree.
  • Minimum of one year supervisory experience.
  • PBT(ASCP) or equivalent.
