About the Job:


The position of Logistics Account Manager will have primary responsibility for the building and maintaining customer relationships, analyzing data, providing shipment updates, and reinforcing pick-up time and delivery requirements.

The Logistics Account Manager will oversee network with members of trucking operations to identify root causes of issues and partner with carriers to improve customer service.


In This Role, You Will:


  • Enhance service to logistics' customers
  • Build relationships with customers to ensure continued partnership
  • Communicate shipment updates proactively ensuring a customercentric approach
  • Analyze customer inquiries and provide timely updates to customers
  • Respond to customers with a sense of urgency to provide an excellent customer experience
  • Deliver a superior level of service to the carrier by identifying or responding to issues, determining the best course of action, and implementing solutions.
  • Provide leadership visibility to serious or repeated problems.
  • Regularly review carrier feedback and respond accordingly, ensuring issues are resolved or escalated when necessary to deliver the best possible experience to the carrier.
  • Build understanding of freight market dynamics, seasonality and supply and demand factors that influence capacity availability and pricing decisions
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency
  • Leverage Odyssey systems and network to generate report and analyze load data
  • Build understanding of freight market dynamics, seasonality and supply and demand factors that influence capacity availability and pricing decisions

  • Gain expertise with capacity analytical and internal costing tools and utilize in guiding informed buying/negotiating decisions that are within cost parameters and at market rates.
  • Provide general logistics support
  • Proactively post desired committed capacity to enable efficient matching of freight to equipment.
  • Support accurate customer pricing and load acceptance.
  • Network internally with operations team members to improve efficiency and customer support.
  • Enable carrier's cash flow by providing cash advances, providing guidance or direct action to resolve payable issues, etc.
  • Work closely with internal partners on shipment updates, problem resolution and/or operational execution.
  • Enable consistent and accurate intransit load visibility.
  • Provide shipment updates on nonautomated loads throughout the work day.
  • Reinforce with carriers the expectation regarding on time pickup and delivery requirements. Identify possible root cause issues and partner with carriers to improve results.

Qualifications:


Required:


  • Two to five years' professional work history in a related line of work is required.
  • Experience in transportation or warehouse industries is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs and ability to type a minimum of 35 words per minute required.

This is an on-site role based in Bensenville, IL.
