JOB DESCRIPTION

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's degree in Science or related field from an accredited college or university
    (required):
  • Master's degree in Science or related field from an accredited college or university
    (preferred):
  • 2 years' experience as a Science instructor or tutor
    (required):
  • Knowledgeable with AP Science content and tests
  • Science competition knowledge
    (preferred):
  • Professional communication skills (both spoken and written)
  • Proven experience assisting students with essay review
  • Competent in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Able to work independently and collaborate with a team
  • Enthusiastic about working with students and parents
  • Able to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Highly organized and detailoriented (attention to detail and accuracy are imperative)
  • Ability to meet schedules and deadlines
  • Good judgment and decisionmaking abilities

JOB DUTIES:


  • Collaborate with the Director of Curriculum Development to develop lesson plans and curricula as needed
  • Prepare students for AP Biology, AP Chemistry, or AP Physics exams
  • Assess students' needs and provide extra support in any lacking areas
  • Provide homework help as needed
  • Able to lead a classroom of students effectively and work efficiently with students Good classroom management skills
