Mark-it Express is a fast-growing asset-based 3PL, Intermodal trucking, and freight brokerage company based in Chicago.

We are currently seeking an energetic Dispatcher or Dispatch Assistant to join our team out of our Lemont, IL terminal.

As a local Intermodal Drayage carrier, we are expanding our team and looking for an individual to assist in dispatching responsibilities.

Intermodal operations require a unique skill set, and while this role involves various moving parts, we leverage user-friendly computers and internet-based portals for seamless operations.

The TMS system we use is called Profit Tools; experience with this model is a plus Training will be provided to ensure mastery and a smooth integration into our operations.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Dispatch Professional to support the management of a group of drivers within a specific region.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in managing driver performance, route scheduling, and equipment maintenance scheduling.
• Collaborate with various functional groups to meet operational goals.
• Support leadership and guidance to drivers through effective communication and interactions.
• Assist in conducting driver performance appraisals, training, and development.
• Enforce company and customer policies and disseminate relevant information to drivers.
• Help optimize the performance of assigned drivers, ensuring ontime pickup and delivery, hours of service compliance, and proper vehicle inspection procedures.
• Assist in the correct use of company systems and provide training to drivers.
• Support driver schedule management by coordinating with Schedulers.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable state, federal, and local laws and regulations.
• Provide input on route design and contribute to identifying and resolving operational issues.
• Assist in representing the company at customer sites, suppliers, and vendors within the assigned region.
• Support coordination of maintenance, cleaning, and snow removal for office, yard, and/or parking locations.
• Other administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Two (2) plus years of Transportation/ Logistics experience is preferred. (Knowledge of dispatching/loadplanning, DOT regulations in order to project arrival times, schedule backhaulsetc. ) OR related experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Must have
  Intermodal transportation experience
• Strong work ethic with a professional, positive attitude.
• Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule as needed.

• 10 hour shift
• Monday through Friday 7 am 5 pm

Pay:
$55,000 + based on experience
