- Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications, design analysis and construction cost estimates
- Perform construction related services including shop drawing reviews, response to requests for information, periodic construction site observation, and occasional specialized structural inspections
- Collaborate with architects and designers and building contractors on design and construction of projects
- Work on multiple bridge projects and collaborate closely with the whole design team from concept to completion, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency
- Design bridges, retaining walls, junction boxes and structural details for transportation projects.
- Assist with the design miscellaneous structures and provide technical expertise for buildings and building related systems
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- 5-10 years of experience in building structures design for public and private clients. Capable of applying the provisions of ASCE-7 and IBC/IRC with client specifications for permit plan approvals.
- Experience in working with a team of engineers and technicians to successfully deliver transportation projects.
- Knowledgeable in preparing plans for TxDOT, cities, counties, and tolling authorities.
- Open Bridge Designer and Open Bridge Modeler experience is a plus.
